Ok!… well here is what I have spent lots of time over the last few months doing. As mentioned in my last post I had stalled them to finish other items like the New Sibling Shirts-yippee!, and then I hit the shipping problem which I have nos resolved so they are all ready to launch on the website with our newsletter this week.

Embroidery hoops are a great trend to add a bit of interest to a room. Quirky and cute and light and easy to hang. Perfect Nursery or children’s room accessory and devine handmade gift.

There are sets of three to give you an instant point of interest or if you have started your own collection you can get a single one to add. Sit one on a shelf to brighten up your office or room!

Some of the designs  you would hve seen on t shirts and baby onesies I have made before before and some of them I am in the process of now putting onto baby clothing! Then your child can match the wall!  hehe

I have endless ideas for more but this is what I am starting with for now. Then the same designs in different fabrics will create endless one off pieces. All hand cut and sealed on the back. Made with linen and quality designer cotton fabrics. Hope you love them as much as Jemma and I do!?

Like all Mums I am always on the look out for recipes that are quick and easy to make and also tasty at the same time.  We all have those nights where we still want to eat something delicious, but we dont want to faff around for hours to create it.

This recipe is one of my current favourites, I always have the ingredients on hand, it takes next to no time to make and my kids love spagetti.

Ingredients

375 dried spagetti pasta

2 tblspns Olive Oile

2 Red Capsicums thinly sliced

150 gms shaved salami sliced

190 g jar rocket or basil pesto (I have used both fine)

Rocket Leaves to serve

1  Cook pasta in saucepan of boiling salted water and drain

2 Meanwhile heat oil in a large frying pan, add capsicum and cook stirring for 5 minutes until softened. Add salami and cook stiring until just softened or browned.

3  Add pesto to capsicum mixutre and cook until heated thru. Add pasta and toss to combine.  Serve topped with rocket leaves, or my favourite parmesean cheese.

For the past 2 months I have been plodding away on some new crafting to add to the store. Something for the home decor range. Think you are going to love them….well I do …and hope you will feel the same! I put them on hold over the last few weeks as I had many other new things on the go but I am back onto them this week and loving their progress. I have 4 complete, 2 in progress and 4 ready to sew. This picture is of some of the fabrics I used on the boys range.

I have hit a problem in the how to ship them department as they are larger than normal but hopefully I can come up with a solution for that soon. We have just raised our postage to cover another price rise from Australia post as we didn’t raise with their last increase however this time we have no choice. Flat rate is still $7.50 so this is great postage value if you stock up all at once.

Also on the done list is my blank canvas……….remember it from here? Well it stayed that way the entire year we were in that house. Come Darwin…I didn’t bother putting it up, purchased some fabric I was going to cover it with instead…but then changed my mind and it stayed stored for that house. So here it is….another house……..and I put it in the family room area and decided I would have a go this time. I was a bit vague in what I was going to do. Had sketched out a few things but basically wanted to just do a very neutral abstract mixed media collage …something. Now that is vague! HA!  I am getting thislounge in blue/grey next week so this area is a bit more usable and thought  maybe a bit of blue/grey in it will work? If only I could paint away the rest of the rooms ugly lino and buttery cream walls…blegh.

As I progressed….I got a bit lost…the stick things got covered….it was nothing like what had been in my head but I kept on plodding along…….

Then it got fun with some texture too………still no idea what I was doing…….

And finally……

I have it hanging now but am not sure if I like it. It looks too home made and hodge podge to me. I think I might wash it over with white to neutralise it all a bit more as I don’t think I like the colour and the black grass lines on it? It is also hard to compete with my beautiful trio of Freedom Carved Panels in the room. Will let it sit there for a few days whilst I decide. oh..and I must put a picture hanger on the back so you cant see that ugly wall hook. At least I can cross another something off my list.
