Baby Things
Well here we are, another weekend. Not that they mean much to me anymore as I don’t work and husband does shift work which sees him work most weekends and we have our days off during the week, but weekends still invoke a sense of Yippee in me.
This weekend I am in a spending mood! I am off to the shops tomorrow to see if I can find a nice dress for myself. We are getting Esmae Christened in a few weeks and I have nothing to wear! It will be the way though that when I NEED to find something, I wont be able to. If I wasn’t after anything you can guarantee that I would see at least 10 dresses I love. So I will hit the shops tomorrow whilst Dan is home to have the kidlets. This is the main reason I love living in a “city” , SHOPPING! Mind you, I think I do as much if not more online shopping still. Much easier to sit and buy in my chair in the peace of the evening than taking the little people who generally aren’t as fond of in store shopping. As well as the dress I really need a pair of shoes, pretty sure thongs won’t cut it.
I am also in the make something pretty mood. So, I have started making Esmae’s Christening dress today. Not sure if I will regret making it myself as I am just making it up as I go and it is a combo of patterns I have made before so here is hoping it turns out ok! Some of the pretty “ingredients” that create the delicious frock…..silk, lace and satin ribbon.
As soon as I saw that lace I thought”ooooooooooh love”! The crosses on it are perfect for this occasion. It is a little too wide but hoping I can make it work. Of course I will share the pics of the dress once it is finished. Hope to have it all done by next weekend.
My last mood has been to finish the darned Christmas decorating. We stared it on the 1st but I was slack as i needed some more of those wire things to hang the baubles so it sorted stopped at a work in progree. It is also very frustrating that some small folk are having a blast pulling everything off. ha! So that is right now….I have got the hooks and whilst I am in the mood I am off to finish the tree and put the extra bits around the house for some festive spirit.
Happy Weekend!

We would like to introduce you to a new funky item we are now stocking at Ollie Rose. Gorgeous baby wipes containers created by Kristy of Wipe Out. Kristy happens to be our parents next door neighbour, which makes it even lovelier to be able to stock her items.
Wipe Out baby wipes containers are functional yet much more stylish than a plain old wipes container. They make wonderful baby shower gifts for mums, and they are also very popular for the older generation who like to keep them in their glove box and always have wipes on hand. Sure to impress the other grey nomads at the caravan park when you whip out a very cool wipes container.
You can find all the wonderful fabric styles we have available in our online store: www.ollierose.com.au
We were delighted to find 2 of our rattles on 2 fantastic sites.
The cute carrot rattles were featured on Style Collective, your lovely one stop online magazine and Fashion Community. I love browsing the interesting pages of beautiful products and articles.

And the rattling rabbits made an appearance on the new and delightful Kid Independent website.
Oh I am so in love with this fantastic range of prints.
In particular I think this Alphabet print, we are super pleased to have in store, is just divine. It is the perfect piece for a child’s bedroom, baby nursery or a playroom. Bright, cheerful, vintage styling, unisex and unique.
A glorious mix of typography, vintage images and hand drawn illustrations done by Paula Mills, put together to create a very special ABC, for anyone aged from 0 to to 100!
Each print is a high quality, using archival inks, on matte heavyweight, bright white card, which will be signed and dated. Simply find a frame, IKEA’s RIBBA frames are perfect and you will have a enviable peice of art in an instant.
You can see it featured here in this sweet Nursery tour on OoDeeDoh.
Sweet William has come about from sisters – Shelley Gardner, Paula Mills and sister in law Jeanine Mills – who share a passion for all things creative, make, draw, sew, collect lots of lovely, sweet things and drink endless cups of tea!
Their beautiful vintage styling is gorgeous and we are sure you will love this amazing print as much as we do. You can find it HERE in our store in two sizes.
Along with restocking some of our favourite items from Pat-a-Cake Baby, we now have in store these handy Dummy Bibs (or pacifier bibs if you come from the USA).
These adorable and super practical dummy bibs are individually crafted for your sweet babe using trendy and modern fabrics. They have a soft cotton print on one side and plush minky dot fabric on the other, making them REVERSIBLE!
How does it work?
Simply clip the dummy to the end and fasten the bib on baby as normal. Baby then has the dummy in their mouth and if it drops out you are saved from having it drop onto the floor and having to clean it. It also works wonderfully on catching lots of baby drool that sometimes dribbles out from little suckers
Older babies will also be able to find the dummy in easy reach to replace it themselves.
How genius!
Gorgeous fabrics…how Stylish!
Was hoping to get a picture of a baby in one but as Esmae is a bit little and I don’t have access to another little bubba at the moment I couldn’t. Hopefully I can share one soon so you can see how they look and work. Especially if you aren’t familiar.
Kobie
For the past few months I have been nagging Kobie to design a shirt for cloth nappies. After a very long process sending designs back and forth and changing our minds, 4 weeks ago the designs were finally sent off to be printed, and today I can at last reveal them.

They have come up fabulous, and I am extremely pleased with them. The first stock will be available for sale at Ollie Rose soon, however the numbers are extremely limited. But don’t worry, we will receive the remaining stocks which will be up and ready in time for the Great Cloth Nappy Hunt in March.

Normally I would say these shirts are made ethically and not in a sweatshop, but phew, making large batches of shirts with a hot heat press in my lounge room creates a sweatshop environment for me and there is nothing ethical about putting me to work like that
If you would like to nab one of the first few, send us an email at sales@ollierose.com.au and let us know. They will retail for $24.95 and available in blue sizes 6-12 mths, 12-18mths & 2, and pink 6-12mths & 2 (size 12-18mths is out of stock and will be available hopefully in about 4 weeks time.)
